Daniel Dae Kim has established himself as one of the most prominent Asian Americans in entertainment. From his best-known roles as Jin on LOST, Chin Ho on HAWAII FIVE-0, and Brandon, the narcissistic boyfriend in ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE, he has built a career that has continued to grow over two decades.
Born in Busan, South Korea, Daniel started building his career on stage in New York, most recently playing the King of Siam in Lincoln Center’s production of the “King and I.” New York is also where he received his MFA in Acting from the Graduate Program at NYU.
On screen, his roles have included Ang Lee’s THE HULK, INSURGENT, HELLBOY, as well as the upcoming films BLAST BEAT and STOWAWAY.
In 2013, Daniel forged a new path in his career by creating his own production company, 3AD. With the goal of featuring those traditionally underrepresented in front of, and behind the camera, 3AD is currently developing a number of projects, most notably abc’s THE GOOD DOCTOR, where he serves as Executive Producer.
In addition to his work in film and tv, Daniel has been an outspoken advocate for diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry and culture at large. He lives in Honolulu with his wife, two sons, and their dog, Kona.
