Udaan Women’s Empowerment Welfare Society

While Udan has been actively involved at the moment to respond to the immediate requirements of women and girls, especially survivors of violence, we have experienced an exponential increase in the number of cases of violence against women and girls much further. Hence, we are simultaneously addressing the needs of 6700 women and girls facing violence, forced labor, and slavery (manual scavenging and caste-based commercial sexual exploitation). This includes the provision of legal and psycho-social support to 117 survivors of violence and trafficking, assisting 3489 women and girls facing forced labor, violence, and slavery to file formal complaints, provision of on-call guidance to more than 1200 women and girls in distress, and raising sensitization and awareness of about 7000 families on the pandemic and on gender-sensitive measures to ensure that women and girls are safe during this unprecedented times.
