Centre for Women Empowerment in Technology (CWE-TECH)

Centre for Women Empowerment in Technology (CWE-TECH) was founded in the year 2017 by two tech enthusiasts who were carrying out their Ph.D. dissertations on the socio-economic impact of technology in relation to development. This created a very deep desire in these two ladies who were already passionate about girls and women issues; thus they formed an organization that would mirror their dreams. CWE-TECH endeavors to close the gender gap in technology and build a more equal world through the provision and access to technological tools that generate positive chain reactions with extensive outcomes to women and girl-child programs. This process intends to accelerate innovative solutions that unlock two key pathways to socio-economic progress for women and girls by; 1) enhancing women’s productivity in existing socio-economic activities, and 2) creating new socio-economic opportunities for women and girls.
