SEHER (Social Empowerment through Health Education and Research)

Tackling Covid by supporting efforts aimed at addressing the gendered effects of this pandemic. We have provided access to menstrual products across Mumbai for over 120 women and girls. Our fundraising efforts have worked to sustain the emergency accommodation services for over 80 homeless young women.
Description: Distributed over 1,000 biodegradable sanitary pads among tribal women and girls of Aarey Colony in suburban Mumbai. Raised over $6721 in collaboration with other social activists for shelter homes housing homeless women. Our Pre-Covid legal intervention efforts through the National Human Rights Commission on reproductive health and bodily integrity continue as well. In the light of the pandemic, in one of our cases involving female garment factory workers in Tamil Nadu, we are petitioning for better sanitation and more period-friendly toilets as the operations resume.
